Jennifer is currently a Nurse Practitioner working in Belfast. She has been working with respiratory patients within primary care since 2014, previously working in an emergency department setting.
Jennifer has a passion for improving outcomes in Asthma in particular. During her time in primary care she has worked on many projects to improve the care of respiratory patients.
Following the NRAD report she initiated a practice project on correct diagnosis of Asthma and SABA overuse beginning in 2015. This was a long patient education project aiming to inform and empower patients to make better choices for themselves. The project was ultimately re audited in 2018 demonstrated a 50% reduction in SABA prescribing in Asthma and a 32% reduction in hospital admissions for asthma related illness. This project gave Jennifer the opportunity to attend and speak at many events and conferences across the UK.
In her spare time Jennifer loves to travel although Covid has slowed that down, and now she is mum to 2 little girls who keep her on her toes.
